Come vs. Go
Come與go的兩個方向不同。Come是往講者的方位,Go是離開講者的方位往對方。
COME is used to show movement toward or in the direction of the speaker or the person being spoken to. It has a similar meaning to the verb “to arrive”.
Sample Sentences:
My mom is coming to see me next week.
Can I come to your house?
Do you want me to come at 8pm?
GO is used to show movement away from the speaker. It has a similar meaning to the verb “to leave”.
Sample Sentences:
We are going to see my mom next week.
I need to go now.
I will go to the office at noon tomorrow.
Lend Vs. Borrow
Lend與Borrow意思都是借,不過方向不同。
LEND is used when someone gives something that is their own to somebody else for a certain period of time (temporarily), but the item will need to be returned. 你暫時的借東西給別人。
Sample Sentences:
Could you lend me your pen?
I will lend you my bike.
The bank is going to lend me NTD50,000 to start my business.
BORROW is used when someone takes something that belongs to somebody else for a certain period of time (temporarily), but they will need to return the item they are taking. 別人暫時借東西給你。
For example:
He likes to borrow money from his girlfriend.
Can I borrow your phone?
I am going to borrow NTD50,000 to start my business.
